Civil Inspector

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Civil Inspector to join our team and play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and oversight of civil engineering projects. Key Responsibilities

The Civil Inspector will be tasked with the following core duties and responsibilities:

• On-Site Inspections: Conduct thorough and systematic inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with engineering plans, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintain accurate daily activity logs, and document all findings related to project progress, materials, and workmanship. Communicate inspection results clearly and promptly to senior engineers and relevant stakeholders.
• Contractor Coordination: Monitor contractor performance, verify work progress, and collaborate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to address technical challenges or discrepancies. Serve as a liaison to resolve issues and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Material and Workmanship Verification: Inspect and approve materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure they meet required standards and specifications. Report any non-conformities or deviations and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Technical Review: Assist in reviewing construction drawings, blueprints, and project documentation to identify potential conflicts or areas requiring clarification. Provide input to optimize project execution and mitigate risks.
• Testing and Commissioning Support: Participate in testing and commissioning activities to validate the integrity and functionality of completed work. Ensure that all systems and structures comply with design intent and regulatory requirements.
• Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of inspections, compliance checks, and project-related documentation. Ensure all logs are organized, accessible, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Competencies

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications, knowledge, and skills:

• Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and industry standards. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing civil engineering and construction projects. Ability to apply these requirements in practical scenarios.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Capable of assessing risks and recommending corrective actions to maintain project integrity.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively report findings, coordinate with stakeholders, and document project progress. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Technical Proficiency: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with construction management software are advantageous. Willingness to adapt to and learn new tools and technologies as required.
