Consultant Physician

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Physician to join our esteemed healthcare team at Fakeeh Care. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care through evidence-based medical practices while adhering to the highest standards of clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and organizational policies. As a Consultant Physician, you will serve as the primary physician for inpatients under your care, ensuring comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and seamless coordination of discharge processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing patient outcomes, fostering a patient-centered care environment, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

The Consultant Physician will perform a wide range of clinical and administrative duties, including:

• Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough clinical, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional assessments of patients, documenting findings meticulously in medical records. Develop and implement evidence-based care plans that align with established standards and best practices.
• Inpatient Management: Act as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for patients admitted under your care. Perform daily assessments, document progress using the SOAP format, and ensure timely implementation of care plans. Develop comprehensive discharge plans on the day of admission, involving discharge-planning services as early as possible when necessary.
• Medical Consultations and Interventions: Respond promptly to medical consultations and document all interventions performed on patients in a timely and accurate manner. Adhere strictly to Fakeeh Care’s documentation standards for medical records.
• Discharge and Follow-Up: Ensure the timely completion and authentication of discharge summaries for patients under your care. Provide clear discharge instructions and education on take-home medications to facilitate a smooth transition from hospital to home.
• Facility and Departmental Engagement: Attend to duties at Fakeeh Health Care facilities and respond to calls as per the departmental or section call schedule. Participate actively in departmental and general staff meetings, contributing innovative ideas to enhance efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
• Medical Reporting and Education: Prepare medical reports for patients in accordance with Fakeeh Care’s prescribed formats and timelines. Contribute to teaching rounds and educational activities as requested by the Chairperson of the Medical Department. Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to empower them in managing their health.
• Administrative and Compliance Duties: Write medical reports in a timely manner, strictly following Fakeeh Care’s documentation standards. Ensure adherence to all organizational policies, including those related to confidentiality, cybersecurity, and ethical conduct. Complete mandatory education requirements at least one month prior to expiration.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education and Experience: Completion of structured training in the field of specialty or subspecialty in a recognized medical center, with the highest clinical degree in that specialty. Must have completed the required experience as per the regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS, DHA) within the field of specialty, in recognized medical centers.
• Clinical Skills: Demonstrated ability to assess and manage patients using an evidence-based approach. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills are essential.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Arabic. Ability to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, and non-medical staff.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
• Organizational and Stress Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments. Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Professionalism and Ethics: Commitment to upholding Fakeeh Care’s code of conduct, policies, and ethical standards. Strict adherence to confidentiality and cybersecurity protocols.
