Scaffolder II

Position Overview

KBR, a global leader in innovation and engineering solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scaffolder II to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of scaffolding systems, providing essential work platforms and temporary structures for maintenance operations across oil and gas facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, technical proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Scaffolder II will be responsible for a range of duties to support scaffolding operations, including:

• Interpretation and Execution: Review and interpret drawings and written instructions from supervisors to determine scaffolding requirements, select appropriate materials, and establish ground levels for safe assembly.
• Scaffolding Assembly: Erect and dismantle scaffolding structures by assembling steel pipes, support beams, braces, and clamps to create stable bases and platforms. Utilize frame/section lifting techniques to position scaffolding components accurately.
• Platform Construction: Install planks over beams to form secure working platforms, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational needs.
• Prefabrication Utilization: Leverage prefabricated scaffolding components to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and expedite project timelines where applicable.
• Dismantling and Cleanup: Safely dismantle scaffolding structures upon project completion, remove debris, and restore work areas to meet housekeeping standards.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials, correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and compliance with plant-specific regulations at SATORP.
• Color Coding and Tagging: Maintain awareness of plank color-coding systems and implement the "USE/NO-USE" tagging system to ensure only approved materials are utilized in scaffolding operations.
• Training and Development: Participate in scheduled safety and technical training sessions, as well as competency-based training programs, to enhance skills and maintain certification standards.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in scaffolding within the oil and gas maintenance sector, supported by a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: Valid certification from a recognized third-party certification body or an accredited Saudi institute, validating the candidate’s expertise in scaffolding operations.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of maintenance management for oil and gas facilities, including familiarity with scaffolding systems, materials, and safety protocols.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational abilities, proactive mindset, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-Solving: Capacity to work under pressure, resolve issues efficiently, and adapt to changing project demands in a high-stakes environment.
• Cultural Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a multicultural workplace and demonstrate flexibility to live and work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
