Enterprise Application Architect

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Application Architect to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing our organization’s application portfolio. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring alignment between technology investments and business objectives, while maintaining the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of our enterprise systems. Key Responsibilities

The Enterprise Application Architect will play a critical role in shaping the technological landscape of our organization. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining the Application Portfolio Register: You will oversee the comprehensive documentation of all applications, platforms, services, integrations, and retired systems within the enterprise. This includes ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all technological assets.
• Application-to-Business Capability Mapping: You will establish and maintain clear mappings between applications and business capabilities, ensuring that technology investments directly support organizational goals and operational needs.
• Application Metadata Management: You will ensure the completeness and accuracy of application metadata, including critical details such as purpose, criticality, data classification, hosting environments, interfaces, support models, Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), and lifecycle status. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
• Application Ownership and Accountability: You will maintain and update records of application ownership and accountability, ensuring that every system has a designated owner responsible for its performance and compliance.
• Periodic Reconciliation: You will run or coordinate regular reconciliation exercises to validate the application portfolio against available sources, identifying discrepancies and ensuring the accuracy of our records.
• Management of Obsolete Systems: You will ensure that outdated or retired applications are promptly removed from current baseline views, reducing technical debt and minimizing security risks.
• Audit and Governance Support: You will support the collection of evidence required for audits and governance reviews, ensuring that our application portfolio meets regulatory and compliance standards.
• Identifying Gaps and Initiatives: You will proactively identify gaps in our application architecture and recommend remediation initiatives to address inefficiencies, redundancies, or compliance risks.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of eight years of relevant experience in enterprise architecture, application management, or a closely related field. A strong background in IT governance, compliance, and strategic planning is essential. Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF or Zachman, is highly desirable, as is experience with application portfolio management tools and methodologies. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills are required to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
