Job Purpose
The Risk Management Lead will oversee the day-to-day operations of Salehiya’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Audit and Risk. This pivotal role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in risk management frameworks, including risk identification, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and monitoring. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and presentation skills, enabling them to deliver impactful training and facilitate risk workshops for leadership and staff. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to align risk management strategies with organizational objectives. Proficiency in established risk management and control frameworks—such as COSO, COSO ERM, and ISO 31000—alongside strong analytical capabilities, will be critical for interpreting risk data and proactively addressing emerging threats. The role requires a proactive approach to risk mitigation and a keen eye for identifying opportunities to enhance organizational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Maintain and update the corporate risk register, ensuring timely input and collaboration from all departments to reflect current risk landscapes accurately.
- Risk Mitigation Oversight: Follow up on risk mitigation actions with designated risk owners, track implementation progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented controls.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present periodic risk reports and dashboards for senior management and the Audit Committee, highlighting key risk exposures and trends.
- Key Risk Indicators (KRIs): Monitor KRIs, initiate corrective actions when thresholds are exceeded, and escalate critical issues to management as needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with risk champions across departments to support risk identification, updates, and fostering a risk-aware culture.
- Documentation and Governance: Develop, review, and maintain risk-related documentation, including policies, procedures, and standardized templates to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Risk Appetite and Tolerance: Assist in setting, reviewing, and refining the organization’s risk appetite and tolerance levels to align with strategic objectives.
- Emerging Risk Monitoring: Continuously scan internal and external environments for potential emerging risks and escalate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Administrative Oversight: Provide administrative support for risk management software or tools, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Training and Awareness: Update risk training materials and assist in delivering awareness sessions to enhance risk management competencies across the organization.
- Audit and Compliance Support: Collaborate with internal audit and compliance functions by providing risk-related insights to inform planning, coordination, and execution of assurance activities.
- Ad Hoc Support: Respond to special projects or initiatives as assigned by management, addressing risk-related inquiries and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CRMA (Certified Risk Management Assurance), IRMCert (Institute of Risk Management Certification), or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in risk management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
