Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRO Manager to oversee and optimize all maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum fleet availability, adhering to stringent industry standards, and driving operational excellence to meet and exceed contractual obligations. This role demands a strategic leader with a strong technical background in aeronautical engineering, a proven track record in MRO management, and exceptional proficiency in managing teams, resources, and compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Availability & Operational Excellence: Accountable for maintaining high fleet availability to consistently meet and surpass company and customer-defined KPIs. Ensure all production, line maintenance, GSE (Ground Support Equipment), and workshop activities are executed efficiently to support daily operations.
- Team & Resource Management: Oversee the management of a workforce exceeding 40 technicians, ensuring optimal staffing levels, resource allocation, and timely delivery of maintenance programs. Verify that all assigned technicians possess the necessary certifications, competencies, and tools to perform their duties effectively.
- GSE/Tools & Workshop Oversight: Manage the calibration, maintenance, and operational readiness of GSE and tools to support seamless daily operations. Ensure workshops are fully equipped and aligned with contractual deliverables and industry standards.
- Risk & Opportunity Management: Proactively identify, assess, and report potential risks and opportunities that could impact fleet availability or contractual commitments to the Technical Director. Implement corrective actions to mitigate adverse impacts and capitalize on opportunities for improvement.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS), international aviation regulations, and Airbus SAMI standards throughout all maintenance activities. Champion a culture of safety, reliability, and operational integrity.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Utilize SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance overall operational performance. Lead and participate in Kaizen events and problem-solving workshops to address line, base, and workshop challenges.
- Corrective Action Management: Oversee the prevention, tracking, and closure of Corrective Action Requests (CARs) within established timeframes to maintain compliance and operational reliability.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Avionics Engineering. Advanced degrees or certifications in related fields are advantageous.
- Licenses & Certifications: Holder of an EASA B1/B2 or C license issued by the respective regulatory authority is highly desirable. Formal training on Airbus fleets, particularly the A330, is preferred.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in a managerial role within MRO operations, with a proven track record in fleet management, maintenance planning, and team leadership.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of aircraft and component manuals, including TSM (Technical Specification Manual), MEL (Minimum Equipment List), IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalog), AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual), SRM (Structural Repair Manual), and AWM (Aircraft Wiring Manual).
- Software & Tools: Strong computer skills with expertise in MS Office Suite and familiarity with airworthiness Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as M4A, AMOS, SAP, and Trax. Experience with Lean Six Sigma projects is a significant advantage.
- Language & Communication: Fluent in English with advanced technical and aeronautical proficiency, enabling effective communication with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and international teams.
