To uphold this commitment, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Safety Engineer to champion a robust Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture throughout our plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of our workforce, contractors, and visitors while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Your core responsibilities will include:
- HSE Management Systems: Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive HSE management systems, policies, and procedures aligned with OSHA standards, local regulations, and company-specific guidelines to foster a culture of safety excellence.
- Risk Assessment & Hazard Analysis: Conduct thorough risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and process hazard reviews to identify potential risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies across all plant operations.
- Incident Management: Lead comprehensive incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and oversee the tracking and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence and enhance operational safety.
- Training & Development: Design, plan, and deliver engaging HSE training programs tailored to employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Safety Inspections & Audits: Execute regular safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks across all areas of the plant to verify adherence to safety standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Permit-to-Work Systems: Manage critical permit-to-work systems, including hot work, confined space entry, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and working at height, ensuring strict compliance with safety protocols.
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Prepare detailed HSE performance reports and provide essential support during regulatory inspections and certification processes to maintain operational legitimacy and safety accreditation.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 to 6 years of hands-on HSE experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of implementing safety initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and Saudi labor safety regulations, ensuring full compliance with local and international safety protocols.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are highly advantageous and will be considered a significant asset.
- Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation, risk management, and the development of corrective action plans to mitigate workplace hazards.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and concise safety training, prepare detailed reports, and liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
