Electrical Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team in NEOM. In this critical role, you will be responsible for executing a comprehensive range of preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities. Your expertise will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical equipment within our state-of-the-art plant facilities. Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Technician will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our electrical systems. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Maintenance Execution: Conducting preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance in strict accordance with established procedures and safety protocols to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment, including static and rotating machinery, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Technical Documentation: Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and protection schematics to accurately assess system requirements and execute maintenance tasks.
• Equipment Isolation & Coordination: Collaborating with the Electrical Supervisor and Operations team to coordinate equipment isolation and maintenance activities, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to safety standards.
• Inventory Management: Reporting spare parts and consumable requirements to support uninterrupted maintenance operations and minimize equipment downtime.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining precise maintenance records and equipment history to facilitate data-driven decision-making and compliance audits.
• Pre-Work Preparation: Ensuring work areas and equipment are properly prepared before maintenance activities to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Shutdown Support: Providing critical support during plant shutdowns, annual outages, and overhauls to restore systems to peak operational condition.
• Housekeeping & Compliance: Upholding the highest standards of housekeeping (5S methodology) and ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
• Adaptability: Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall objectives of the plant.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a minimum of four years of hands-on experience as a Skilled Electrical Labor within NOMAC plants. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of four years of relevant experience as an Electrical Technician or in a comparable role within industrial or power generation environments.
• Industry Expertise: Prior experience in one or more of the following sectors is advantageous: Conventional Power Plants, Combined Cycle Power Plants, Cogeneration Plants, Water Desalination Plants (RO, MSF, MED), or Renewable Energy Plants (Solar or Wind).

• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of electrical maintenance practices, troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to interpret complex electrical schematics.
• Safety Awareness: Strong familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, electrical safety protocols, confined space entry, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire protection systems, and safe work practices.
• Operational Insight: Basic knowledge of power and water plant operations to support cross-functional collaboration and system optimization.
• Compliance & Environmental Stewardship: Awareness of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems, including waste management, environmental compliance, and first aid procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve shared objectives.
• Adaptability: Willingness to work in remote locations, confined spaces, at heights, and around industrial equipment and chemicals while adhering to stringent safety protocols.
• Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills to support documentation, reporting, and system monitoring.

Working Conditions

This is a plant-based role located in NEOM, a cutting-edge industrial hub. The position requires flexibility to work in a remote location and may involve exposure to outdoor elements, elevated heights, confined spaces, and industrial hazards. Strict adherence to safety procedures and protocols is mandatory to ensure the well-being of all personnel and the integrity of the facility.
