Key Responsibilities

The Revenue and Settlement Accountant (Junior) will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Transaction Recording: Accurately record daily revenue and payment gateway transactions to maintain the integrity of financial records.
• Settlement Reconciliations: Prepare and review settlement and host disbursement reconciliations to ensure alignment with financial records and identify discrepancies.
• Revenue Adjustments: Process manual revenue adjustments and accounting entries as required, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Variance Monitoring: Proactively monitor settlement variances, investigate discrepancies, and escalate issues to senior management for resolution.
• Payment Gateway Support: Assist in payment gateway reconciliations and contribute to revenue reporting to provide stakeholders with accurate financial insights.
• Documentation Maintenance: Maintain meticulous financial records and supporting documentation to support audit trails and regulatory compliance.
• Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and industry regulations to mitigate financial risks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including finance, operations, and IT, to resolve settlement issues and streamline processes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or revenue operations, with a preference for candidates familiar with payment gateway or marketplace transactions.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of high-volume financial data processing and expertise in Microsoft Excel, as well as familiarity with financial reporting tools.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies with precision and efficiency.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and present financial insights clearly.
