Director of Engineering - Multi-Property

The Director of Engineering - Multi-Property is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of multiple buildings, grounds, and physical plants, ensuring safety, security, and asset protection. This role requires a high level of property maintenance knowledge and involves managing budgets, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will develop and implement strategies to deliver exceptional products and services that meet or exceed the needs and expectations of guests and employees while maximizing financial performance. This role also involves leading the emergency response team for all facility issues and ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Managing Engineering Operations and Budgets:
• Collaborate with property and regional engineering leadership to monitor budget performance and address areas of concern.
• Oversee the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.
• Administer service contracts to support property needs.
• Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring alignment with the property/brand's business strategy.
• Supervise construction projects to ensure timely completion within budgetary guidelines.
• Maintaining Engineering Standards:
• Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.
• Maintain property life safety systems and ensure building and equipment licenses, permits, and certifications are current.
• Administer property policies fairly and consistently.
• Managing Profitability:
• Monitor and manage areas of operation to budget, reviewing operating statements, budget worksheets, and payroll progress reports.
• Participate in the development of departments' capital expenditure goals and the budgeting process.
• Prepare weekly and period-end P&L critiques for each unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in engineering and maintenance, or
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major with 4 years of experience.
• Technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing.
