Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Inspector at HanmiGlobal Saudi, your core responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of critical tasks to uphold project integrity and regulatory adherence. Your duties will include:

• Quality Assurance: Conducting rigorous inspections of civil works, including earthworks, concrete structures, steel frameworks, and finishing activities, to verify compliance with approved designs, specifications, and international standards such as ASTM, ACI, and BS.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining meticulous records of inspections, tests, and observations, and preparing detailed reports for project managers, engineers, and regulatory authorities to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring all construction activities align with local regulations, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines set forth by Saudi authorities, including the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH) and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).
• Material and Workmanship Verification: Collaborating with laboratory technicians to validate the quality of construction materials, such as aggregates, cement, and reinforcing steel, through sampling and testing procedures to prevent substandard inputs.
• Safety Oversight: Actively participating in safety inspections to identify potential hazards, enforce safety protocols, and mitigate risks to protect workers and the public, in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitating seamless communication between contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve discrepancies, address non-conformities, and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Technical Support: Assisting in the resolution of technical challenges by providing expert insights and recommendations to optimize construction methodologies while maintaining cost efficiency and project timelines.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a blend of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and professional certifications. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil inspection, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying construction codes and standards, including Saudi Building Code (SBC), International Building Code (IBC), and relevant ASTM/EN standards.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex construction scenarios and implement practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Certifications such as Certified Construction Inspector (CCI), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), or equivalent credentials from recognized bodies will be highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with construction management software and digital inspection tools, such as AutoCAD, BIM 360, or Procore, is preferred.
• Proficiency in both English and Arabic is essential to navigate regulatory documents and communicate with local authorities and labor forces.
