Role Overview
The Learning & Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in strengthening workforce readiness at Lenovo Manufacturing KSA by designing, delivering, and evaluating impactful training and capability-building programs. Reporting directly to the L&D Lead, this position is responsible for the entire learning lifecycle—from conducting comprehensive needs analyses to measuring program effectiveness—with a strong emphasis on manufacturing skills development, seamless onboarding processes, and fostering cross-cultural collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Lenovo’s operations in China. The ideal candidate will combine instructional design expertise with a deep understanding of global business dynamics to empower employees and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Program Design & Delivery
- Conduct thorough training needs analyses across manufacturing, operations, and support functions to identify critical capability gaps and development opportunities.
- Design and develop engaging learning content, courses, and workshops that align with Lenovo’s global standards and business objectives, ensuring relevance and applicability to real-world scenarios.
- Facilitate dynamic training sessions—whether in-person, virtual, or on-the-job—to enhance both technical competencies and soft skills among employees and trainee cohorts.
- Develop and manage comprehensive onboarding and orientation programs for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into Lenovo’s corporate culture and operational frameworks.
Cross-Cultural & Global Collaboration
- Collaborate with Lenovo’s China-based teams to support learning initiatives, including trainee deployments and knowledge-transfer programs at manufacturing sites.
- Create and deliver cross-cultural resources, briefings, and support mechanisms to facilitate effective integration between Saudi and Chinese workforce teams.
- Act as a liaison between local and global Learning & Development stakeholders to maintain program consistency, alignment with corporate goals, and adherence to Lenovo’s global standards.
Measurement & Reporting
- Track and analyze key learning metrics, including completion rates, mentor coverage, participant satisfaction scores, and total training hours, to assess program effectiveness.
- Prepare detailed reports and interactive dashboards on L&D outcomes for review by the L&D Lead and senior leadership, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Recommend strategic improvements based on data-driven insights and participant feedback to enhance the quality and impact of training initiatives.
Operations & Administration
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), maintain accurate training records, and oversee scheduling to ensure seamless program execution.
- Coordinate with external vendors, training providers, and assessment platforms to deliver high-quality learning solutions and resources.
- Support psychometric and competency assessments for candidate evaluation and talent development, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
- Ensure all training programs comply with Lenovo’s internal policies, local labor regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and relevant KSA training mandates such as HRDF requirements.
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new employees, delivering comprehensive orientations that cover company profiles, organizational structures, workplace policies, and cultural expectations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Talent Development, with a preferred background in manufacturing, technology, or multinational corporate environments.
- Proven track record in designing and facilitating end-to-end training programs, from needs assessment to evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and proficiency in learning analytics and reporting tools.
- Prior exposure to cross-cultural or international work environments is highly advantageous and demonstrates adaptability in global settings.
