Radiology Technologist

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiology Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of radiologic imaging procedures for both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care. Your expertise in operating advanced radiographic equipment, combined with your anatomical knowledge and technical proficiency, will be instrumental in supporting physicians in delivering precise medical diagnoses. This position requires a commitment to excellence, compassionate patient interaction, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Radiologic Imaging and Equipment Operation: Set up and operate both immobile and mobile radiologic equipment with precision, ensuring optimal image quality while adhering to established departmental protocols and physician instructions. Position patients correctly to minimize discomfort, prevent injury aggravation, and avoid distortion of anatomical structures in radiographic images.
• Technical and Diagnostic Excellence: Measure body density, compute exposure times, and adjust equipment settings to produce radiographs of superior detail, contrast, and clarity. Verify diagnostic quality and proper positioning of images, and center the equipment accurately over the target area to achieve reliable diagnostic results.
• Assistance in Procedures: Provide essential support to radiologists during complex examinations, including the preparation and administration of contrast media such as Barium and kaolin solutions. Assist in positioning patients and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Patient Care and Education: Deliver compassionate care to every patient, ensuring their comfort and dignity during imaging procedures. Educate patients and their families about the process, expected outcomes, and post-procedure care, in alignment with hospital policies and patient education standards. Document all educational interactions in the patient’s medical record.
• Administrative and Operational Duties: Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation in compliance with departmental and institutional policies. Keep the work area clean, organized, and fully stocked to support efficient workflow. Instruct students and junior staff in radiologic techniques and best practices as assigned.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with hospital medical and nursing staff, as well as supporting professional services, to ensure seamless coordination of patient care. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to facilitate informed decision-making and positive clinical outcomes.
• Adaptability and Professional Development: Demonstrate the ability to manage changing priorities, responsibilities, and demands in a high-pressure surgical environment. Uphold the highest standards of patient care while maintaining technical proficiency and professional growth.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education and Licensure: Bachelor’s degree in Radiology Technology. Current license to practice radiography in your permanent place of residence, along with a professional license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• Experience: Minimum of two years of proven experience in an Operating Room (OR) setting, with proficiency in operating mobile X-ray equipment.
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Fluency in verbal and written English; proficiency in Arabic is a strong asset.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, with a focus on education, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work extended hours in a demanding clinical environment.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Radiology Manager and Department Head, with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
