Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer – CSA, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust quality management systems in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Your core duties will include:

• Quality Assurance & Control: Develop, review, and enforce quality plans, procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Compliance & Certification: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and certifications, including ISO, ASME, API, and local regulatory frameworks. Facilitate the preparation and submission of documentation for third-party audits and certifications.
• Risk Management: Identify potential quality risks and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them. Analyze root causes of defects or non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventive measures to enhance process reliability.
• Training & Development: Provide guidance and training to project teams on quality best practices, tools, and methodologies. Foster a culture of quality consciousness by promoting awareness and accountability at all levels of the organization.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to generate actionable insights. Prepare comprehensive reports for management, highlighting trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues promptly. Serve as a liaison between project teams and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless compliance with contractual obligations.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field) or a relevant technical discipline. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., ASQ, PMP, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in quality engineering, preferably within the engineering, construction, or oil & gas sectors. Experience with CSA (Canadian Standards Association) standards is a strong advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), statistical process control (SPC), and risk assessment methodologies. Familiarity with quality software tools (e.g., SAP, ETQ Reliance, or similar) is beneficial.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or similar are preferred.
