Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of ELV systems within data centre environments. Your duties will include:

• System Design & Engineering: Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced ELV systems, including fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and building management systems (BMS), tailored specifically for high-availability data centre facilities.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with international standards such as ANSI/TIA-942, BICSI, and NFPA 72, while aligning with client-specific requirements and project objectives.
• Project Execution & Coordination: Collaborate closely with architects, MEP engineers, and IT infrastructure specialists to integrate ELV systems seamlessly into the overall data centre design, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency during construction and commissioning phases.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous reviews of system designs, drawings, and specifications to verify adherence to regulatory codes, client specifications, and industry best practices. Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover processes to guarantee optimal performance and reliability.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary technical liaison between Jacobs, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, facilitating clear communication and resolving technical challenges to maintain project momentum and client satisfaction.
• Innovation & Sustainability: Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies and sustainable practices in ELV system design, such as energy-efficient solutions and smart monitoring systems, to enhance data centre resilience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, or BICSI RCDD) is highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in ELV system design and implementation, with at least 5 years dedicated to data centre environments. Experience with hyperscale or colocation data centres is a strong advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of ELV systems, including fire detection, security systems, structured cabling, and BMS, with hands-on experience using industry-standard software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with international standards and codes governing data centre infrastructure, such as ANSI/TIA-942, ISO 27001, and NFPA 72, as well as regional regulations applicable in the Middle East.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong leadership qualities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with global teams and clients.
