Position Overview
We are collaborating with a premier retail manufacturing organization based in Jeddah to identify a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Accountant. This role is pivotal in overseeing the complete Accounts Payable (AP) function, ensuring meticulous processing of supplier invoices, employee expense claims, vendor reconciliations, accruals, and payment proposals in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, optimizing cash flow, and supporting the organization’s strategic objectives through efficient AP operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accounts Payable Accountant will be entrusted with the following core responsibilities:
- End-to-End AP Process Management: Oversee the entire Accounts Payable lifecycle, from invoice validation and three-way matching to the execution of supplier payments, ensuring adherence to company policies and Saudi regulatory standards.
- Invoice Validation & Compliance: Verify supplier invoices for accuracy, perform three-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice), and ensure full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Saudi VAT regulations, withholding tax obligations, and ZATCA requirements.
- Payment Coordination & Treasury Collaboration: Prepare and submit payment proposals in alignment with cash flow projections, collaborating closely with the Treasury team to facilitate timely and accurate supplier payments.
- Supplier Account Reconciliation: Conduct regular reconciliations of supplier accounts, promptly resolve discrepancies, and proactively monitor AP ageing reports to mitigate outstanding liabilities and reduce financial risks.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing Support: Assist in month-end and year-end financial close processes, including accrual calculations, AP-to-GL reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate financial records for audit and reporting purposes.
- Financial Reporting & Audit Support: Generate comprehensive AP reports, facilitate internal and external audits, and ensure the integrity of financial data through rigorous record-keeping and control mechanisms.
- Process Optimization & System Enhancements: Drive continuous process improvements within the AP function and contribute to the optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, fostering efficiency and scalability in financial operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with procurement, treasury, and other departments to streamline workflows, resolve payment-related queries, and support broader financial initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to an Accounts Payable function in a high-volume transactional environment.
- Industry Expertise: Prior experience within Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), manufacturing, distribution, or other sectors characterized by high transaction volumes is highly advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is preferred, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Saudi VAT, withholding tax regulations, ZATCA requirements, and IFRS standards to ensure full compliance in all financial operations.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels and support audit and reporting processes.
