Process Engineer

The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing process capability, efficiency, yield, and quality while ensuring compliance with the organization’s EHS and PSM system requirements and plant safeguarding. This role provides daily process engineering support to Operations and other departments.

• Performs activities such as:
• Supporting analyses of real-time plant data and vendor data, collecting and interpreting plant performance data.
• Providing technical support to improve process capability, efficiency, yield, and quality, assisting with unit monitoring and optimization, and reviewing critical operating parameters.
• Assisting in evaluating plant economics and validating process models, recommending cost-effective solutions to maximize plant availability.
• Supporting shutdown planning, particularly with predicting end-of-run on catalyst.
• Following and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work methods for specific production areas and/or processes.
• Participating in incident investigation, MOCs, HAZOPs, PSSR, and JSAs as required.
• Supporting projects during plant commissioning and turnaround activities, and troubleshooting activities arising from changes in process operations or new production plant projects.
• Organizing, implementing, and maintaining production process flow, and providing support for Phase I/Phase II projects.
• Strictly following established environmental, health, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
• Undertaking accountabilities in the operational excellence process and contributing to continuous improvement for the assigned area.
• Performing other relevant tasks as directed by the Superintendent Process Engineering.

Required Qualifications:

• Academic background includes a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• +3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the petrochemical industry.

Skills/Performance Indicators:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
