Systems Accountant

Position Overview

Gathern, a leading organization based in Riyadh, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Systems Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our financial systems while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise in accounting systems and a deep understanding of financial processes to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The Systems Accountant will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our financial systems to support business objectives. Your core responsibilities will include:

• System Administration: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of accounting software and ERP systems to ensure seamless financial operations.
• Data Integrity & Reporting: Validate financial data accuracy, perform reconciliations, and generate insightful reports to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
• Process Automation: Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes, reducing errors and improving efficiency across the finance function.
• Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure adherence to local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and system access.
• System Integration: Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to integrate financial systems with other business applications, enhancing data flow and operational synergy.
• User Training & Support: Provide training and guidance to end-users on system functionalities, troubleshoot technical issues, and promote best practices in system utilization.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze system performance, recommend upgrades, and implement enhancements to align with evolving business needs and technological advancements.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the following competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and ERP systems, along with strong Excel skills and familiarity with SQL or other query languages.
• Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including non-technical users.
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive projects to successful completion in a fast-paced environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
