Onsite Engineer

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer or Architect to join our team as a full-time Onsite Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will serve as our primary representative on the construction site, ensuring that all contractors adhere meticulously to the approved architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory codes. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of quality, precision, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Construction Oversight: Monitor daily construction activities to verify that all work is executed in strict accordance with the approved drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes. Your keen eye for detail will help identify and resolve discrepancies before they escalate.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of contractors’ work, assessing the quality of materials, installation methods, and dimensional accuracy. Promptly document and report any deviations from the approved plans to ensure corrective action is taken without delay.
• Shop Drawing Development: Prepare, review, and issue shop drawings and construction details as necessary to address site-specific conditions or clarify design intent. Proficiency in AutoCAD (with Revit as a desirable asset) will be essential for producing accurate and comprehensive documentation.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between the design team, contractors, and project management. Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) in a timely manner and facilitate clear communication to resolve issues efficiently.
• Progress Reporting: Attend site meetings and prepare detailed daily or weekly progress reports, including photographic evidence, to keep all stakeholders informed of the project’s status and any emerging challenges.
• Critical Inspections: Perform critical inspections of work stages prior to concealment, such as reinforcement installation, MEP rough-ins, and waterproofing, to ensure compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements.
• Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive records of site instructions, variations, and as-built changes to provide a clear audit trail and support project closeout activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in on-site construction supervision, with a proven track record in managing complex projects.
• Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and apply architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to real-world construction scenarios.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, with Revit experience considered a significant advantage for shop drawing production.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry quality standards to ensure compliance and excellence.
• Strong attention to detail, assertiveness in decision-making, and the ability to hold contractors accountable for delivering work that meets or exceeds project specifications.
