Role Summary

As a Lead Specialist, Technical Solutions II, you will play a pivotal role in capturing and defining the Statement of Requirements for key initiatives, meticulously troubleshooting both current and future states to drive impactful solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing comprehensive solution plans in collaboration with Platform and Solution Architects, while providing unwavering support to business unit delivery teams through site-based deployments and management. This role demands a strategic mindset, technical acumen, and the ability to deliver measurable value across multiple quarters.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing solution delivery with a focus on translating complex business challenges into actionable technical solutions. This includes:

  • Solution Delivery:
    • Analyzing business challenges and leveraging site-based evidence to identify and refine specific solutions.
    • Prioritizing solutioning elements to align with Business Unit objectives within your technology domain(s).
    • Resolving technical and integration issues that may impact initiative outcomes.
    • Ensuring solution designs are scalable, integrated, and fully compliant with enterprise standards.
  • Guidance for Delivery Teams:
    • Leading cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and digital specialists, to ensure precise implementation of solution designs.
    • Providing clear technical direction, design clarification, and rigorous quality oversight throughout the delivery process.
    • Ensuring implementations meet agreed-upon functional, performance, and quality expectations.
  • Support for Domain and TechOps Initiatives:
    • Collaborating with Domain Integrators and Business Partners to define initiative scope, success metrics, and value hypotheses.
    • Ensuring initiatives remain aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs), value outcomes, and organizational priorities.
    • Proactively identifying and communicating technical trade-offs, risks, and dependencies to mitigate potential challenges.

Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mining or Minerals Engineering (with specializations in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering also considered), Computer Science, or Data Science.
  • A minimum of 4-8 years of experience in technical, analytics, or technology delivery roles.
  • A proven track record of owning solution design and guiding delivery teams to successful outcomes.
  • Strong ability to translate complex business needs into practical and innovative technical solutions.
  • Comfort and adaptability in operating within ambiguous, fast-paced, and evolving environments.
