Lead Commercial Strategy for a Landmark Development in Riyadh

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Commercial Director to lead the commercial execution of a major, high-profile development project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is an exceptional opportunity for a commercially driven professional with a proven track record in delivering complex, large-scale projects for a Tier 1 contractor. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the commercial framework, overseeing procurement activities, and ensuring the seamless delivery of key project packages throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

The Commercial Director will be responsible for driving the commercial strategy and ensuring robust financial and contractual management across all project phases. This includes:

• Commercial Leadership: Developing and implementing commercial strategies that align with the project’s objectives, ensuring profitability and risk mitigation.
• Procurement Excellence: Leading procurement activities for critical project packages, including Early Works & Track, MEP, and Finishes, to secure optimal terms and value for the project.
• Package Delivery Oversight: Managing the end-to-end delivery of complex commercial packages, from initial procurement through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and senior leadership, to foster strong relationships and negotiate favorable contractual terms.
• Financial and Contractual Management: Overseeing cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting to ensure the project remains on track and within budget.
• Risk and Opportunity Management: Identifying and mitigating commercial risks while capitalizing on opportunities to enhance project outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a commercially astute professional with the following qualifications and experience:

• Experience: 10–15 years in a commercial leadership role, with a strong background in major construction projects delivered by a recognized Tier 1 contractor.
• Expertise: Proven expertise in procurement, commercial package delivery, and large-scale project management, with a focus on high-value construction initiatives.
• Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive decisions across diverse teams.
• Adaptability: The ability to transition seamlessly from pre-contract activities to full commercial management as the project progresses, ensuring continuity and alignment with project goals.
