Job Purpose / Objective

Responsible for providing safe, effective nursing care to medically ill pre and post-operative patients, utilizing professional knowledge and skills in accordance with HMG policies and procedures. Ensures assigned patients receive timely multidisciplinary care.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Receive assigned patients and apply the nursing care process.
Develop individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the team.
Monitor patient status and report deviations to the team leader and doctor on duty.
Carry out doctor’s orders accurately and promptly.
Provide patient and family education as needed.
Document patient assessment findings and progress.
Initiate emergency and resuscitative measures as required.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Maintain required unit-specific competencies.
Demonstrate flexibility to meet work needs, including floating as needed.
Adhere to JCIA / CBAHI standards and HMG policies.
Provide clinical supervision and support as shift in charge.
Attend departmental education, training, and meetings.
Perform nursing procedures and participate in person-centered care initiatives.
Perform other applicable tasks assigned by the charge nurse or head nurse.
