About the Role
As a Safety Manager for Asalah Residence Company, a subsidiary of Mohammad Al-Habib Real Estate Investment Company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) landscape of our landmark high-rise developments in Riyadh and Makkah. Key Responsibilities
As the Safety Manager, you will be entrusted with the following core responsibilities:
- HSE Strategy Development: Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive HSE management plan that aligns with Saudi regulatory frameworks, project requirements, and global best practices to foster a culture of safety across all operations.
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead a dedicated site safety team, ensuring robust safety supervision across all work zones and fostering collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies to uphold the highest safety standards.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Conduct rigorous site safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identifications, enforcing corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure unwavering compliance with local and international safety protocols.
- Incident Investigation & Prevention: Lead thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and implement data-driven preventive measures to eliminate recurring hazards and enhance workplace safety.
- Training & Awareness: Deliver engaging safety inductions, toolbox talks, and specialized training programs to empower site personnel and subcontractors with the knowledge and skills to prioritize safety in every task.
- Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with Civil Defense authorities, Riyadh Municipality, and other regulatory entities to secure necessary permits, ensure compliance, and address safety-related inquiries promptly.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report critical HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Lost Time Injuries (LTI), near-miss incidents, and man-hour safety metrics, to project leadership for continuous improvement.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop, test, and refine emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire prevention strategies, and crisis management protocols, to ensure readiness for any contingency.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field is essential. Advanced certifications such as the NEBOSH International Diploma or NEBOSH Construction Certificate are highly advantageous.
- Professional Certifications: Holders of OSHA Certification or equivalent HSE qualifications will be prioritized. Additional certifications such as IOSH, CSP, or Grad IOSH, along with membership in recognized HSE professional organizations, are considered a significant plus.
- Industry Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in HSE management, with a proven track record on high-rise construction projects. Experience within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is highly desirable, and prior collaboration with major developers or Tier-1 contractors will be viewed favorably.
- Technical Proficiency: Exhibit deep expertise in HSE management systems, construction safety protocols, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques. Familiarity with Saudi Building Code, Civil Defense requirements, and international safety standards is critical.
- Specialized Skills: Proficient in permit-to-work (PTW) systems, working-at-height safety, crane and lifting operations safety, excavation and confined space safety, and fire prevention planning. Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and HSE reporting systems is required.
