National Identity Associate Teacher

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate National Identity Associate Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. Areas of Responsibility

• Classroom and Student Support: Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active student participation. Prepare and organize classroom materials, including bulletin boards and duplicated resources, to enhance the learning experience. Support teachers in delivering lessons through small-group instruction or whole-class teaching, ensuring that all students are actively engaged and progressing.
• Bilingual Education and Curriculum Support: Utilize effective translanguaging strategies to promote bilingualism across all subject areas, ensuring that students can access and engage with the curriculum in a way that supports their linguistic development. Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons that reflect the school’s commitment to cultural identity and diversity.
• Lesson Coverage and Duty Management: Provide reliable and high-quality cover for lessons, including the delivery of the Creative, Cognitive, Affective, Physical, and Social (CCAPS) curriculum, as well as supervising students during playtimes, lunchtimes, and other school duties. Ensure that emergency and evacuation procedures are fully understood and implemented to maintain the safety of all students.
• Safeguarding and Well-being: Prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of all students, responding promptly and appropriately to any concerns. Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure that safeguarding policies are strictly followed and that the school remains a safe and nurturing environment for every child. Maintain a high level of awareness regarding health and safety policies and procedures.
• Professional Development and Collaboration: Actively participate in weekly staff meetings, training days, and other professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement. Collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and leadership to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment. Promote subject areas and co-curricular activities to enrich the student experience and foster a sense of community within the school.
• Extracurricular and Enrichment Activities: Support students in accessing a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, including educational visits, camps, and whole-school activities. Ensure that all students can participate fully in these experiences, regardless of their individual needs or circumstances. Assist in organizing and leading activities that align with the school’s educational goals and values.
• Administrative and Additional Duties: Perform other duties as delegated by the Junior School Principal or line manager, including supporting the implementation of mutually agreed-upon objectives. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required, and adhere to all school policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in education or a related field. A minimum of two years of experience working in junior schools is essential, with a proven track record of supporting students with diverse learning, social, and psychological needs. Your ability to build effective working relationships, adapt to changing circumstances, and set high expectations for students will be critical to your success in this position. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite tools is required, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
