Procurement Supervisor – Join a Leading Construction Team in Riyadh

Ambatt Contracting Company, a dynamic and rapidly growing player in the construction industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Supervisor to lead our procurement operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a pivotal role for professionals with a strong track record in construction procurement, particularly in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), Civil, and Architectural materials. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality materials, while maintaining compliance with Saudi regulatory standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing all procurement activities for multiple construction projects. Your core duties will include:

• Strategic Procurement Management: Oversee daily procurement operations, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgetary constraints.
• Supplier Engagement & Negotiation: Prepare, issue, and follow up on Requests for Quotation (RFQs) with suppliers and subcontractors. Conduct comprehensive technical and commercial evaluations to identify the most competitive and reliable offers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Contract & Purchase Order Administration: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial agreements to secure favorable terms. Prepare and manage purchase orders, tracking the entire procurement cycle from requisition to final delivery at project sites.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Technical Office, Site Teams, Warehouse, Quantity Surveying (QS), and Finance departments to ensure seamless procurement processes and material availability.
• Procurement Scheduling & Compliance: Monitor long-lead items and maintain detailed procurement schedules to support project milestones. Ensure all procured materials adhere to project specifications, approved submittals, and client requirements.
• Supplier Performance & Compliance: Develop and maintain supplier and subcontractor performance records. Ensure full compliance with Saudi regulatory frameworks, including SABER, SASO, FASAH, and Local Content requirements.
• Documentation & System Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement documentation and records using ERP systems, with a preference for Odoo.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Experience: 5 to 8 years in procurement, preferably within construction companies operating in Saudi Arabia.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in procuring MEP materials, including Fire Fighting Systems, HVAC Systems, Plumbing & Drainage, Sanitary Ware & Accessories, Low Current Systems, Electrical Cables, LV Panels, Lighting Fixtures, Cable Trays & Trunking, and EMT & PVC Conduits and Fittings. Solid knowledge of Civil and Architectural construction materials is essential.
• Negotiation & Analytical Skills: Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and supplier management capabilities, with a strong ability to prepare detailed technical and commercial comparison sheets.
• Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Saudi supplier and subcontractor landscape.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly Odoo. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office are mandatory.
• Communication: Fluent written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to articulate complex procurement strategies clearly.
• Adaptability: Capacity to thrive under pressure and manage multiple procurement activities across diverse projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, CIPS, Lean, or Six Sigma.
• Prior experience working on government, ROSHN, NHC, or other large-scale construction projects in Saudi Arabia.
