Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Process Engineer to spearhead critical process engineering initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and efficiency across our advanced facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving process engineering excellence by overseeing and executing a range of high-impact responsibilities. The role encompasses the development, review, and optimization of process engineering deliverables to support the design, operation, and safety of our petrochemical plants. Specific duties include:

• Process Design Development: Lead the creation and review of comprehensive Process Design Basis (PDB) and Design Philosophy documents, establishing the foundational framework for all process engineering activities.
• Process Flow Documentation: Develop and validate Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs), ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives and industry standards.
• Process Simulation & Analysis: Conduct advanced process simulations using industry-leading software such as Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus, or equivalent tools, to model and optimize process performance under various operating conditions.
• Operational Scenario Definition: Define and analyze critical operating cases, including turndown, start-up, shutdown, and upset scenarios, to enhance operational flexibility, reliability, and safety.
• Safety & Compliance Leadership: Lead and facilitate P&ID reviews and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies, ensuring thorough documentation of actions and rigorous adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and professional background:

• Location Preference: Candidates based in Saudi Arabia will be given priority consideration.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in process engineering within the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or chemical processing industries is essential.
• Project Execution Expertise: Proven experience in Process Design Package (PDP) and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project execution is mandatory, with a strong understanding of associated workflows and methodologies.
