Rackspace Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solutions Architect (VMware) to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing VMware-based solutions to meet the evolving needs of our enterprise clients. As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and customer success, to deliver innovative and scalable solutions that drive business value and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Solutions Architect specializing in VMware technologies, your core responsibilities will include:

• Solution Design and Architecture: Develop comprehensive VMware solutions tailored to client requirements, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals. This includes designing virtualization, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure solutions using VMware vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and other VMware products.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior architects, engineers, and stakeholders on VMware technologies, including migration strategies, performance optimization, and security best practices.
• Client Engagement and Consultation: Work closely with clients to assess their technical needs, identify opportunities for VMware-based improvements, and present tailored solutions that enhance their IT infrastructure. Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Proof of Concept (PoC) Development: Lead the creation and execution of PoCs to validate the feasibility and benefits of proposed VMware solutions. Document findings and present results to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Collaboration and Integration: Partner with sales, pre-sales, and delivery teams to support the development of proposals, RFP responses, and technical presentations. Ensure smooth integration of VMware solutions with existing client environments and third-party systems.
• Stay Current with Industry Trends: Continuously research and evaluate emerging VMware technologies, industry trends, and competitive solutions to recommend enhancements and innovations that keep Rackspace at the forefront of the market.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure all VMware solutions adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Rackspace’s internal policies. Address security, compliance, and risk management considerations throughout the solution lifecycle.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on VMware technologies, including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and VMware Cloud solutions.
• Certifications: VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) certifications are highly desirable. Additional certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure) or networking (e.g., Cisco) are a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in VMware product suites, including vRealize Suite, Horizon, and Tanzu. Strong understanding of virtualization, storage, networking, and security principles. Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is beneficial.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build strong relationships with clients and internal teams. Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Industry Knowledge: Awareness of industry trends, compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, SOC, GDPR), and best practices in IT infrastructure and cloud computing. Experience working in regulated industries or with enterprise-level clients is advantageous.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
• Location and Travel: This position is based in Saudi Arabia. Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, attend conferences, or participate in training sessions.
