In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality, durability, and compliance of construction materials used in our projects. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our infrastructure developments, commercial buildings, and residential complexes across the region. If you are passionate about sustainable construction practices and possess a strong technical background in material science, we invite you to apply and become an integral part of our growth story.

Key Responsibilities

  • Material Selection and Specification: Evaluate and recommend construction materials, including concrete, steel, asphalt, and composite materials, based on project requirements, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. Ensure materials meet industry standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Develop and implement rigorous quality control procedures to monitor material performance at every stage of construction. Conduct inspections, tests, and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and international standards such as ASTM, BS, or EN.
  • Technical Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, material certifications, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of materials into construction plans.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of advancements in construction materials and technologies. Propose innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency, reduce costs, and improve sustainability, such as the use of recycled materials or high-performance concrete.
  • Site Coordination and Support: Provide on-site technical support during construction phases, addressing material-related challenges and ensuring adherence to engineering designs. Work closely with procurement teams to source high-quality materials within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Ensure all materials and processes comply with local and international safety regulations, including fire resistance, structural integrity, and environmental impact assessments. Promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the project teams.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Material Science, Construction Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 9001) are advantageous.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in material engineering within the construction industry, with a proven track record in quality assurance, testing, and compliance. Experience in large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects is highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of construction materials, testing methodologies, and industry standards. Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, BIM, or material testing equipment (e.g., compression testers, spectrophotometers).
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze material performance data, identify defects or inefficiencies, and propose practical solutions. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting are essential.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and suppliers. Ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
