Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Preparation and Support: Prepare dental clinics for procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments, materials, and equipment are readily available. Assist dentists across various dental specialties, including general dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery, by providing seamless support during treatments.
• Infection Prevention and Control: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of infection prevention protocols, including proper sterilization and disinfection procedures. Adhere to strict hygiene standards to safeguard both patients and staff, minimizing the risk of cross-contamination.
• Sterilization and Equipment Management: Oversee the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) processes, if applicable, to ensure all reusable instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance.
• Patient Interaction and Communication: Foster a welcoming and professional environment by effectively communicating with patients, addressing their concerns, and providing clear instructions for post-treatment care. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Uphold rigorous quality standards in all aspects of dental care, from patient records to procedural outcomes. Stay updated with the latest advancements in dental technology and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid SCFHS registration and classification as a Dental Assistant.
• Minimum of one year of professional experience in a dental clinic or similar healthcare setting.

• Proficiency in preparing dental clinics and assisting across multiple dental specialties.
• Prior experience in the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) is considered a valuable asset.
