Job Purpose

The Health and Safety Supervisor serves as a critical liaison between management and the workforce, overseeing the implementation and enforcement of safety policies and procedures across all operational sites. This role is pivotal in ensuring full compliance with local and company-specific safety standards, monitoring on-site practices, and mitigating risks to safeguard both employees and assets. The Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for identifying potential hazards, reporting violations, and fostering a proactive culture of safety and well-being. By promoting adherence to safety protocols and addressing non-compliance, this position plays a key role in maintaining a secure and healthy work environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise the execution of local HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations and company safety policies to ensure full compliance.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to teams, ensuring strict adherence to safety instructions and operational requirements.
  • Conduct proactive site inspections to identify hazards, report findings, and ensure corrective measures are implemented promptly.
  • Oversee the availability, proper use, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools across all sites.
  • Monitor worker compliance with safety procedures and address any violations through corrective actions or additional training.
  • Lead comprehensive risk assessments for all worksites and operational activities to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure the inspection and maintenance of equipment safety standards.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of sites, emergency exits, and fire protection systems to verify operational readiness.
  • Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of safety policies, plans, and emergency response protocols.
  • Supervise the development and delivery of safety training programs, with a focus on onboarding new employees and ongoing education.
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Oversee safety reporting, recordkeeping, complaint resolution, and workplace improvement initiatives to enhance overall safety performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a closely related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) or occupational safety roles, preferably within the healthcare or industrial sector.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi HSE regulations and the ability to enforce compliance effectively.
  • Proficiency in planning, delivering, and overseeing safety training programs tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills to oversee safety reporting and evaluate safety performance metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure meticulous compliance with all safety standards and protocols.
  • Ability to manage field operations under pressure while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Experience in utilizing and enhancing HSE systems and technologies to drive operational excellence.
