Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and Troubleshoot Communication Systems: Install, configure, and repair a wide range of communication equipment, including radio systems, satellite links, fiber optics, and network infrastructure, to ensure uninterrupted connectivity in remote and challenging environments.
• Ensure Operational Reliability: Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance testing of communication systems to identify and resolve issues proactively, minimizing downtime and operational disruptions.
• Support Drilling Operations: Collaborate closely with drilling teams to provide real-time technical support, ensuring that communication systems meet the demands of high-pressure drilling environments while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
• Implement Technological Advancements: Stay abreast of emerging technologies in communication systems and recommend innovative solutions to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability in alignment with Saudi Aramco Nabors Drilling’s strategic objectives.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all communication systems comply with industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards, including those set by Saudi Aramco and international bodies, to mitigate risks and maintain operational integrity.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures. Prepare detailed reports for management to track system performance and recommend improvements.
• Emergency Response: Act as a first responder during critical communication failures or emergencies, providing rapid diagnostics and solutions to restore connectivity and support ongoing operations without delay.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong technical background in communication systems, coupled with hands-on experience in a similar environment. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field. Professional certifications in communication systems, such as Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+, are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of radio frequency (RF) systems, satellite communications, fiber optics, and network infrastructure. Experience with industrial communication protocols and equipment is essential.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve complex communication issues efficiently under pressure.
• Safety and Compliance Awareness: A strong commitment to adhering to safety protocols, industry regulations, and environmental standards, with a proactive approach to risk management.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams, including drilling operators, IT specialists, and management.
• Adaptability: The ability to work in remote and challenging environments, often under time constraints, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and technical competence.
