Position Overview
The Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales initiatives across diverse market segments, including Corporate, Government, Leisure, Travel Trade, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions), and Social Events. This position is instrumental in maximizing hotel occupancy, optimizing meeting room utilization, enhancing food & beverage revenues, and fostering long-term business partnerships, all while adhering to Mövenpick and Accor brand standards. The ideal candidate will proactively identify new business opportunities, nurture existing client relationships, and contribute significantly to achieving the hotel’s annual revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Prospect and secure new business opportunities across all market segments, ensuring a diversified and resilient revenue stream.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, government entities, travel agencies, and key decision-makers to drive repeat and referral business.
- Conduct daily sales calls, client meetings, and proactive outside sales activities to expand market reach and visibility.
- Organize and participate in site inspections and compelling hotel presentations to showcase the property’s unique offerings.
- Negotiate contracts, competitive rates, and mutually beneficial business agreements in alignment with hotel policies and market standards.
- Promote guest rooms, meeting facilities, restaurants, catering services, and special promotions to drive occupancy and revenue.
Account Management
- Oversee a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty through personalized service and attention.
- Conduct regular account reviews to identify growth opportunities, upselling potential, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and execute tailored account plans for major clients to strengthen partnerships and secure long-term commitments.
- Ensure timely and professional follow-up on inquiries, proposals, and contracts to maintain client trust and engagement.
- Build and sustain long-term partnerships that generate repeat business and enhance the hotel’s reputation in the market.
Revenue Generation & Market Intelligence
- Collaborate closely with the Revenue Management and Reservations teams to maximize yield, profitability, and occupancy rates.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and pricing strategies to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and detailed business reports to support data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.
- Support the implementation of promotional campaigns, seasonal offers, and loyalty programs to drive demand and guest engagement.
Events & Catering Sales Support
- Work in tandem with the Food & Beverage and Events teams to generate and secure banquet and catering business.
- Promote and sell weddings, conferences, social events, and outside catering opportunities to diversify revenue streams.
- Coordinate with operational departments to ensure seamless event execution, from planning to post-event follow-up.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain and update accurate client information within the CRM system to ensure personalized and efficient service delivery.
- Document all sales activities thoroughly to support performance analysis and strategic planning.
- Respond promptly to client requests, address concerns professionally, and resolve issues to maintain high service standards.
- Represent the hotel positively in all interactions, embodying the brand’s values and commitment to excellence.
Administration & Reporting
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly sales activity reports to track performance against targets and KPIs.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and provide actionable insights to optimize strategies and outcomes.
- Participate actively in budget preparation, annual business planning, and strategic discussions to align sales objectives with hotel goals.
- Attend departmental meetings and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure strict compliance with Accor policies, procedures, and brand standards to uphold the hotel’s reputation and operational integrity.
Qualifications & Competencies
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales, with a strong preference for candidates with prior experience in an international hotel brand.
- Proven track record in Corporate, Government, and MICE sales, demonstrating expertise in securing high-value contracts and partnerships.
- Familiarity with the Saudi Arabian hospitality market is considered a significant advantage.
- A valid driving license is preferred to facilitate travel for client meetings and site visits.
