Fund Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in supporting investment operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence across our fund administration and reporting functions. Key Responsibilities

• Investment Operations Management: Oversee the execution of investment activities, including subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, transfers, and corporate actions, ensuring seamless and accurate processing.
• Reconciliation and Validation: Conduct thorough reconciliations of transactions, valuations, and investment returns with investment managers, custodian banks, and sub-fund administrators. Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain financial integrity.
• NAV Pack Review and Validation: Review and validate Net Asset Value (NAV) packs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Escalate discrepancies to senior management for resolution prior to final sign-off.
• VAT Compliance and Optimization: Ensure VAT claims are precise, compliant with regulatory requirements, and optimized to minimize risk exposure while maximizing efficiency.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate financial reporting, coordinating auditor requests, and ensuring all documentation is readily available and compliant.
• Administrative Documentation: Prepare and review administrative documents, including proposals and agreements, in a timely and accurate manner to support fund operations.
• Document Management: Maintain a comprehensive internal document archive for each investment manager, covering legal, compliance, operational, marketing, and financial materials to ensure transparency and accessibility.
• Regulatory Compliance: Review terms and conditions and related documents during investment setup to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and recommend mitigation measures to safeguard the firm.
• Reporting and Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and deliver regular financial reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies, ensuring clarity and compliance with reporting standards.
• Process Improvement and Automation: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows through automation and process reviews, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
• Team Leadership and Development: Evaluate, train, and develop team members, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth and operational excellence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead initiatives to improve operational readiness and collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure consistent process implementation and alignment with organizational goals.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with cross-divisional stakeholders, including service level agreements with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business-oriented discipline, such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration. An MBA in Finance or a professional finance qualification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment operations, fund administration, or a related field within the banking or financial services sector.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial markets, investment structures, and regulatory frameworks, with a focus on compliance and risk management.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the capacity to interpret complex financial data accurately.
• Organizational and Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
