Role Overview
The Investment Analyst will play a pivotal role in evaluating and analyzing company investments in assets and long-term leases. This position requires a meticulous approach to assessing economic viability, financial performance, and associated risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive Business Case Assessment (BCA) packages, collaborating with stakeholders, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership, including the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The role demands a blend of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills to drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Case Development: Prepare detailed BCA packages for all capital expenditures (CAPEX) and long-term lease investments, including project descriptions, financial key performance indicators (KPIs), risk assessments, and buy-vs-lease analyses.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with relevant stakeholders to review and validate input data, assumptions, and final recommendations, ensuring alignment across departments.
- Presentation and Approval: Present BCAs to appropriate approval authorities, such as the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, to secure final investment decisions.
- Support and Advisory: Assist colleagues in investment and commercial controlling matters, providing insights and recommendations as needed.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain secure and confidential archives of all BCA documents and approval documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Communication and Reporting: Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all interactions.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance systems, processes, and practices to boost productivity and operational efficiency.
- Policy Implementation: Adhere to and implement all relevant departmental policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure consistent and controlled workflows.
- Reporting Standards: Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate documentation and reports, meeting departmental requirements, policies, and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an equivalent field from a recognized and accredited university.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CISI, or ACCA are highly desirable.
- Fluency in both oral and written English is essential.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in investment analysis, financial modeling, or a closely related field.
