Key Responsibilities

The Dermatology Senior Registrar / Registrar will play a critical role in the comprehensive management of patients, encompassing both medical and surgical care. Your primary duties will include:

• Patient Care and Management: Provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for admitted patients, either independently or under the supervision of a consultant. Conduct thorough patient assessments, request and interpret diagnostic investigations, establish accurate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans while adhering to approved clinical guidelines and pathways.
• Outpatient Clinic Management: Manage outpatient clinics as assigned, ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and adherence to departmental protocols. Perform follow-up evaluations to monitor treatment efficacy and patient progress.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with nurses, therapists, residents, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, surgical procedures, and emergency response protocols as required.
• Quality Improvement and Professional Development: Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research projects. Engage in continuous self-development through participation in training programs, workshops, and academic conferences. Provide mentorship, teaching, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows to foster their professional growth.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure meticulous documentation of patient records, discharge summaries, and medical reports in the electronic health system. Obtain informed consent for all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and maintain compliance with hospital policies, Islamic values, and professional ethics.
• Patient Education and Advocacy: Educate patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and post-treatment care. Enhance patient experience by demonstrating compassion, respect, and dignity in all interactions.
• Administrative and Committee Participation: Attend and contribute to hospital and departmental committees as assigned. Perform independent rounds at least once per shift and respond promptly to patient needs and emergency codes in accordance with hospital policies.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education and Qualifications:
  • A medical degree from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Completion of internship and residency in dermatology or a related specialty.
  • A postgraduate qualification (MD, MS, MSc, or equivalent) in dermatology or a subspecialty.
• Licensure and Certification:
  • A valid license to practice medicine in your country of origin.
  • Eligibility for licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience post-residency in dermatology or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a tertiary or teaching hospital is highly desirable.
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Exceptional diagnostic and clinical management abilities, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a multicultural healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset.
