Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and fostering long-term relationships with our most important clients. In this strategic position, you will collaborate closely with the Area Manager to develop and execute comprehensive business plans that align with company objectives while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. Your expertise will be instrumental in analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, and implementing innovative strategies to enhance our competitive edge in the healthcare industry.
Core Responsibilities
- Business Development & Strategy: Partner with the Area Manager to create and implement business plans that drive revenue growth and achieve company targets. Conduct thorough market analysis to identify industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key accounts, ensuring their needs are fully understood and addressed. Act as the primary point of contact for resolving client issues, addressing concerns, and providing solutions that exceed expectations.
- Account Growth & Expansion: Develop a deep understanding of each key account’s requirements, anticipate changes, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance value and satisfaction. Expand existing relationships by identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and introducing new solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the liaison between key clients and internal teams, facilitating seamless communication and coordination to ensure alignment on deliverables, timelines, and performance metrics. Lead and manage the account team assigned to each client to drive cohesive and effective execution.
- Contract Negotiation & Performance Management: Negotiate and finalize contracts with key clients, establishing clear performance timelines and ensuring compliance with agreed-upon terms. Utilize client data and analytics to enhance customer relationship management and inform strategic decisions.
- Clinical & Sales Leadership: Drive the achievement of clinical and sales goals for all Masimo products within your assigned territory. Meet or exceed assigned quotas for sales and contracts while strategically growing the installed base. Engage in the full sales cycle, from qualification and demonstration to clinical evaluation and contract closure, in collaboration with the Area Business Manager and Country Manager.
- Market Positioning & Education: Position Masimo SET as the gold standard for pulse oximetry, Masimo Rainbow as the premier choice for pulse CO-Oximetry, and the ROOT innovation platform as an essential bedside solution across operating rooms, ICUs, and hospital departments. Provide clinical education and support to OEM sales staff to facilitate whole-house conversions to Masimo technologies.
- Competitive Conversion & Advocacy: Persuade customers using multiparametric monitors (e.g., GE, Philips, Dräger, Spacelabs) to upgrade their installed base from non-Masimo SpO2 technology to Masimo solutions, securing long-term contracts and fostering loyalty.
- Thought Leadership & Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and clinical bodies in your territory, including anesthesia, ICU, neonatology, and emergency medicine. Work with Marketing to ensure Masimo’s technologies are integrated into academic programs, major congresses, and local protocols.
- Sales & Marketing Support: Provide valuable input to the Region and Distribution Manager on clinical market trends, competitive activity, product design needs, regulatory requirements, and production considerations. Participate in trade shows, regional symposiums, and competitive analysis initiatives to enhance brand visibility and end-user awareness.
- Administrative & Tender Participation: Contribute to administrative, tender, and clinical education efforts for Group Purchasing Organizations, Ministry initiatives, and public, private, and non-hospital opportunities. Ensure all field and customer interactions are accurately documented in Salesforce.com to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Budget & Performance Excellence: Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by adhering to and exceeding expense budgets for all required activities while consistently delivering measurable results.
