Civil Design Engineer (Telecom)

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Design: Develop detailed civil design plans for telecom infrastructure, including towers, shelters, foundations, and associated civil works, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Site Assessment & Feasibility Studies: Conduct thorough site evaluations to assess environmental, geological, and logistical factors, providing data-driven recommendations for optimal site selection and design modifications.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with telecom engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to integrate civil design solutions with telecom network planning, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with project objectives.
• Regulatory Compliance & Permitting: Prepare and submit necessary documentation for obtaining permits and approvals from local authorities, ensuring adherence to Saudi Arabian construction and telecom regulations.
• Technical Documentation & Reporting: Create comprehensive design reports, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) to facilitate clear communication and execution by construction teams.
• Budget & Resource Management: Assist in estimating project costs, resource allocation, and timelines, while identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements without compromising quality.
• Quality Assurance & Risk Mitigation: Implement robust quality control measures to ensure designs meet structural integrity, safety, and performance standards, while proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.

Qualifications & Skills

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are advantageous.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus on telecom infrastructure design. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is highly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound knowledge of civil design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM tools) and familiarity with telecom-specific design requirements. Experience with GIS and remote sensing tools is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Saudi Arabian construction codes, telecom regulations, and environmental standards.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop innovative solutions to technical challenges.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a valuable asset. Ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen eye for detail and adherence to deadlines.
