Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Engineering Real Estate, your core responsibilities will include:

• System Design and Development: Create detailed electrical designs, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems, in compliance with international standards and local regulations.
• Project Collaboration: Work closely with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs, ensuring functionality and aesthetic alignment.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or ETAP. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all designs adhere to local and international electrical codes, including NEC, IEC, and Saudi building regulations. Conduct thorough reviews to mitigate risks and enhance safety protocols.
• Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: Incorporate energy-efficient solutions and renewable energy systems, such as solar power, into designs to support sustainable development goals and reduce operational costs.
• Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Provide accurate cost estimates for electrical components and systems, collaborating with procurement teams to optimize resource allocation and control project expenditures.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues during the design, construction, and commissioning phases, ensuring minimal disruptions to project timelines.
• Site Inspections and Quality Assurance: Participate in site visits to oversee the implementation of electrical systems, verify compliance with design specifications, and address any discrepancies promptly.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED, or CIBSE) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design engineering, preferably within the real estate, construction, or infrastructure sectors. Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound knowledge of electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with smart building technologies and IoT integration is a plus.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Communication and Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Fluency in English is required; Arabic language proficiency is a valuable asset.
• Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
