Senior Instrumentation Engineer – Al Khafjī
Penspen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join our dynamic team in Al Khafjī. This critical role is designed for a seasoned professional who will play a pivotal part in the design, development, and optimization of instrumentation systems for oil and gas facilities. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of technical and project-related duties, including:
- System Design and Engineering: Lead the conceptual design, detailed engineering, and implementation of advanced instrumentation and control systems, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry best practices.
- Project Leadership: Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring project deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all instrumentation systems comply with international codes, standards, and client-specific requirements, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and environmental sustainability.

Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering; a Master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in instrumentation engineering, with a strong background in oil and gas, petrochemical, or related industries.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software tools, such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems, as well as CAD and simulation software.
- In-depth knowledge of international standards, including IEC, ISA, API, and ATEX, with a keen understanding of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional safety (SIL).li>
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of mentoring and developing technical teams.
