Senior Mechanical Engineer – Penspen, Al Khafjī

Key Responsibilities
In this senior position, you will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities, including:
- Project Leadership: Lead mechanical engineering projects from conceptualization to completion, overseeing design, procurement, fabrication, and installation phases to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Technical Expertise: Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to develop robust solutions for equipment, piping systems, pressure vessels, and other critical infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and performance.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all mechanical designs and installations adhere to international codes and standards, such as ASME, API, and ISO, while prioritizing safety, environmental sustainability, and operational integrity.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and process engineers, as well as project managers and clients, to foster a collaborative environment that drives innovation and problem-solving.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments, failure mode analyses, and reliability studies to identify potential hazards and implement proactive measures that enhance system resilience and longevity.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and review comprehensive engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports, to support project execution and regulatory approvals.

Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, tools, and software, including CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations, such as ASME BPVC, API 650, API 620, and relevant local regulatory frameworks.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English is required; additional proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
