Key Responsibilities

In this senior position, you will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

• Project Leadership: Lead mechanical engineering projects from conceptualization to completion, overseeing design, procurement, fabrication, and installation phases to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Technical Expertise: Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to develop robust solutions for equipment, piping systems, pressure vessels, and other critical infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all mechanical designs and installations adhere to international codes and standards, such as ASME, API, and ISO, while prioritizing safety, environmental sustainability, and operational integrity.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and process engineers, as well as project managers and clients, to foster a collaborative environment that drives innovation and problem-solving.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments, failure mode analyses, and reliability studies to identify potential hazards and implement proactive measures that enhance system resilience and longevity.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare and review comprehensive engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports, to support project execution and regulatory approvals.
• Mentorship and Development: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, tools, and software, including CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations, such as ASME BPVC, API 650, API 620, and relevant local regulatory frameworks.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English is required; additional proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
