Lead Planning Engineer - Residential Projects | Saudi Arabia

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Planning Engineer to oversee residential construction projects in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of residential developments by providing strategic planning, scheduling, and coordination expertise. This position requires a proactive leader with a strong background in construction planning, project management, and a deep understanding of residential project requirements. The Lead Planning Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality residential projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project schedules using advanced planning tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Ensure alignment with project milestones, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
• Resource Allocation: Optimize resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment, to maximize efficiency and minimize project delays. Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as necessary to maintain project momentum.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and bottlenecks in project timelines and proactively develop mitigation strategies. Conduct regular risk assessments to ensure project continuity and adherence to safety standards.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between the planning team, contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Facilitate clear communication channels to ensure all parties are aligned with project goals and timelines.
• Budget Adherence: Work closely with the finance and procurement teams to ensure projects are delivered within allocated budgets. Monitor cost variances and recommend corrective actions to prevent budget overruns.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure residential projects meet industry standards, regulatory compliance, and client specifications. Implement best practices to enhance project quality and durability.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed progress reports, including Gantt charts, dashboards, and variance analyses, for senior management and clients. Maintain accurate project documentation for audits and future reference.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior planning engineers and support staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the planning team to drive project success.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing residential projects. Experience in the Saudi Arabian construction market is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and strong analytical skills. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Certifications: Valid professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent are advantageous.
