Key Responsibilities

The Site Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

• Technical Oversight: Conducting regular site inspections to verify that construction activities adhere to approved designs, engineering standards, and contractual obligations. This includes monitoring progress, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborating with quality control teams to perform inspections, tests, and audits to ensure that materials, workmanship, and construction methods meet the highest standards of quality and durability.
• Project Coordination: Acting as a liaison between the project team, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of site activities, including daily reports, progress updates, and non-conformance reports. Preparing comprehensive documentation for client reviews, audits, and regulatory submissions.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforcing strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to create a secure working environment. Conducting safety briefings, risk assessments, and incident investigations to prevent workplace hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Technical Support: Providing on-site engineering expertise to resolve technical challenges, optimize construction methodologies, and implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Representing AtkinsRéalis in meetings with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to present progress reports, address concerns, and foster strong professional relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEng) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in site engineering, construction management, or a similar role within the infrastructure, oil & gas, or energy sectors. Prior experience in the Middle East or on large-scale projects is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D) and project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project). Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials science, and structural analysis.
• Certifications: Valid certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) and familiarity with local regulatory frameworks in Saudi Arabia are essential.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and lead diverse teams in a multicultural environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
