Data Platform Lead / Administrator (DevOps)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Platform Lead / Administrator (DevOps) to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. Key Responsibilities

• Platform Leadership: Lead the end-to-end development, deployment, and optimization of our data platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.
• DevOps Integration: Implement and maintain DevOps methodologies to streamline data pipeline workflows, enhance collaboration between development and operations teams, and accelerate time-to-market for data-driven solutions.
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee the administration of cloud-based data platforms, including provisioning, monitoring, and scaling resources to meet evolving demands while optimizing cost and performance.
• Data Pipeline Automation: Design, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines to ensure seamless data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across the organization.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce robust security protocols, data governance policies, and compliance standards to safeguard sensitive information and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to align technical solutions with organizational goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement strategic enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate a proven track record in data platform administration, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure management. The following qualifications and skills are essential:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, or Docker) are highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Expertise in data pipeline technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, or Airflow).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to lead and mentor a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of data governance, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
