Data Engineer – Talend (Saudi National)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer – Talend (Saudi National) to join our dynamic team in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure seamless data integration, transformation, and delivery across our organization. Your expertise in Talend and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making and supporting our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• ETL Development: Design, implement, and optimize ETL workflows using Talend Open Studio, Talend Data Integration, or Talend Data Fabric to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into target systems.
• Data Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines that ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity.
• Data Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate disparate data sources, including databases, APIs, flat files, and cloud-based systems, into a unified data ecosystem.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor, tune, and optimize ETL processes and data pipelines to enhance efficiency, reduce processing times, and minimize resource consumption.
• Data Quality & Governance: Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration & Support: Work closely with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions that align with business needs.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation of ETL processes, data models, and workflows, adhering to industry best practices and organizational guidelines.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies in data engineering to drive innovation and improve existing processes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in data engineering or related disciplines are a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Talend Open Studio, Talend Data Integration, or Talend Data Fabric. Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Java for data processing and automation is required.
• Data Sources: Experience working with diverse data sources, including relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases, APIs, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Data Warehousing: Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery is desirable.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and implement effective solutions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Language Requirement: Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
• Nationality: This position is exclusively open to Saudi nationals.
