General Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our dynamic team at Hilton in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions. Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures to facilitate timely and accurate reporting.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, vendor payments, and customer receipts. Monitor aging reports to ensure timely collections and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure full compliance and minimize potential risks.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets. Analyze financial performance against budgets and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Conduct periodic audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and mitigate financial risks.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and senior management, to provide financial analysis and support for business initiatives. Communicate financial insights in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency through the adoption of best practices and technological advancements. Recommend and implement improvements to optimize workflow and reduce operational costs.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality, travel, or service industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and local accounting standards, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and cultures.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred, though not mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
