Information Technology Governance Consultant

Position Overview

ARK SOLUTIONZ, a dynamic software development house, systems integrator, and cutting-edge technology provider, is seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Governance Consultant to support an urgent client engagement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting a leading banking client in Riyadh with the implementation and optimization of the SAMA IT Governance (ITG) Framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance and business objectives. This is a 12-month contract opportunity, commencing in the first week of August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

The Information Technology Governance Consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IT governance frameworks that integrate seamlessly with the organization’s strategic goals and regulatory mandates. Core duties include:

• Framework Implementation & Compliance: Assessing existing IT processes, developing governance policies, and ensuring adherence to the SAMA IT Governance (ITG) Framework within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector.
• Risk Management & Audit Support: Conducting comprehensive gap analyses, supporting internal and external audits, and recommending enhancements to mitigate risks and strengthen compliance posture.
• Policy & Procedure Development: Crafting and refining IT governance policies, procedures, and controls to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering with IT, security, and business teams to foster a culture of governance excellence, ensuring alignment between technology initiatives and organizational objectives.
• Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Establishing metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of IT governance frameworks, driving continuous optimization and maturity enhancement.
• Advisory & Training: Providing expert guidance on IT service management (ITSM), cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory compliance, while mentoring internal stakeholders on governance best practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following stringent criteria:

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years to a maximum of 10 years in IT Governance Consulting, with a proven track record in the BFSI sector and hands-on experience with the SAMA IT Governance (ITG) Framework.
• Certifications: Mandatory possession of ITIL and COBIT certifications. A cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of IT governance frameworks, risk management, IT audit processes, cybersecurity controls, and IT service management best practices.
• Industry-Specific Expertise: Demonstrated experience in implementing governance frameworks within banking, financial services, or insurance environments, with a focus on regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

While the above qualifications are mandatory, candidates with the following attributes will be given preference:

• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, or other internationally recognized security and governance standards.
• Experience in cloud security, infrastructure management, and enterprise IT environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven track record in advisory or consulting roles.

This is a 12-month contract-based position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with an anticipated start date in the first week of August 2026. Only candidates with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience will be considered; those with more than 10 years of experience are ineligible for this role.
