Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Enterprise / Data Architect to join our team in Jeddah, KSA. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for owning and governing the end-to-end architecture of a cutting-edge Data Lakehouse, ensuring alignment with enterprise principles and regulatory standards. Your expertise will drive the modernization of data platforms, optimize performance, and establish robust governance frameworks to support the bank’s strategic objectives. This role demands a deep understanding of enterprise data architectures, regulatory compliance, and advanced data technologies, making it ideal for a visionary leader who thrives in dynamic, high-impact environments.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Ownership & Governance

• Data Lakehouse Architecture: Lead the design, governance, and evolution of the Data Lakehouse, ensuring seamless integration across data ingestion, storage, processing, consumption, and governance layers.
• Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold): Define and validate the target state architecture in alignment with the bank’s enterprise principles, ensuring consistency and scalability across all layers.
• Data Processing Patterns: Establish architectural patterns for batch, near real-time, and historical data processing to support diverse business requirements.

Platform & Technology Alignment

• Technology Stack Integration: Ensure architectural consistency and seamless integration across key platforms, including Cloudera Data Platform, Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse, Informatica (ETL, Data Quality, Metadata), and Denodo (Data Virtualization & Consumption).
• Design Validation: Review and approve low-level designs, data flows, and integration patterns to maintain architectural integrity and alignment with enterprise goals.

Phase 1 Remediation Governance

• Architectural Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of Phase 1 deliverables, including data pipelines, logical and physical data models, and Gold layer aggregations in Teradata.
• Gap Analysis & Remediation: Identify architectural gaps, anti-patterns, and misalignments, and develop strategic remediation plans to align with the bank’s target architecture.

Enterprise Data Modeling & Standards

• Data Model Governance: Oversee the implementation of logical and physical data models in alignment with FSLDM (Financial Services Logical Data Model) and FSAS aggregation standards.
• Model Validation: Ensure the correctness, consistency, and reusability of enterprise and subject-area models, validating aggregation logic, hierarchies, and reporting readiness.

Governance, Compliance & Security

• Regulatory Alignment: Ensure architectural designs comply with NDMO (National Data Management Office), NDI (National Data Index), and the bank’s data classification, privacy, and security standards.
• Metadata & Lineage: Oversee the design of metadata, lineage, data quality, and auditability frameworks to support regulatory reporting, traceability, and reconciliation requirements.

Performance, Scalability & Resilience

• Architectural Patterns: Define high availability (≥99.9% uptime), horizontal scalability, disaster recovery, and point-in-time restore strategies to ensure operational resilience.
• Performance Optimization: Guide performance tuning strategies for ingestion, transformation, and reporting workloads to maximize efficiency and user experience.

Stakeholder & Governance Engagement

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary architectural interface with the bank’s IT, Data Governance, Security, and Business teams, fostering alignment and innovation.
• Architectural Advocacy: Participate in architecture review boards, design walkthroughs, and governance forums, articulating architectural decisions, trade-offs, and impacts to senior stakeholders with clarity and conviction.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• Enterprise Data Architecture: Proven experience in designing and modernizing enterprise data architectures, including Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Medallion architecture patterns.
• BFSI Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) data domains and enterprise reference models, including FSLDM and FSAS.
• Technology Proficiency: Hands-on architectural exposure to Cloudera CDP (HDFS, Spark, Hive, Kafka), Teradata Vantage, Informatica (ETL), and Denodo, with a focus on integration and scalability.

Governance & Compliance

• Data Governance Frameworks: Experience designing governance-driven architectures, including metadata management, lineage tracking, and data quality frameworks.
• Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for data platforms, including security, masking, and encryption standards.

Non-Functional Design

• Performance Optimization: Expertise in performance tuning, workload optimization, and scalability strategies to ensure high availability and efficiency.
• Resilience & Recovery: Proven ability to design disaster recovery and high-availability solutions to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
