Key Responsibilities

As a Fire Protection Engineer at AESG, your core responsibilities will encompass a wide range of technical and strategic tasks, including:

• System Design and Engineering: Develop comprehensive fire protection strategies, including the design of sprinkler systems, fire alarms, smoke control systems, and emergency evacuation plans tailored to the unique needs of each project.
• Code Compliance and Standards: Ensure all fire protection systems and designs comply with international codes and standards, such as NFPA, IBC, and local Saudi regulations, while also staying abreast of evolving industry best practices.
• Risk Assessment and Analysis: Conduct thorough fire risk assessments for buildings, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects to identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation measures to minimize risks.
• Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and project managers, to integrate fire protection solutions seamlessly into construction and renovation projects from inception to completion.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations to support fire protection system designs and regulatory submissions.
• Inspection and Testing: Oversee the installation, inspection, and testing of fire protection systems to ensure they meet performance criteria and function effectively in emergency scenarios.
• Client Consultation: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on fire safety regulations, system upgrades, and cost-effective solutions to enhance their fire protection infrastructure.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay at the forefront of technological advancements in fire protection, evaluating and integrating innovative solutions such as smart detection systems and sustainable fire suppression technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, CFPS, NICET) are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fire protection engineering, with a proven track record in designing and implementing fire safety systems for commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
• In-depth knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and regulations, particularly those applicable in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia.
• Proficiency in fire protection system design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or specialized fire modeling tools (e.g., FDS, PyroSim).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent project management abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
