Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a critical role in shaping the financial landscape of Almarai by assuming the following core responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight and Reporting: Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards (IFRS), ensuring timely and accurate reporting for all business units. This includes overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, managing intercompany reconciliations, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Strategic Financial Management: Develop and implement robust accounting policies and procedures to enhance financial integrity and operational efficiency. Collaborate with business unit leaders to align financial strategies with corporate objectives, driving cost optimization and revenue growth initiatives.
• Internal Controls and Compliance: Establish and maintain a strong internal control framework to mitigate financial risks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Conduct periodic reviews and audits to identify gaps and implement corrective actions, safeguarding the company’s assets and reputation.
• Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and guide a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and align with Almarai’s long-term talent strategy.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, board members, and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies. Present financial performance, trends, and strategic recommendations to support informed decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
• Technology and Innovation: Leverage advanced accounting software and financial systems to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities. Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to drive digital transformation within the finance function.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a multinational corporation or large-scale enterprise. Prior experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector is advantageous.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in IFRS, financial reporting, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into strategic insights.
• Leadership and Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Additional language skills are a plus.
