Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial records and reporting for all business units under Almarai’s umbrella. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Financial Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to accounting teams, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies and regulatory requirements.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory frameworks, including Zakat, Tax, and other statutory obligations.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Risk Management & Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to mitigate financial risks, ensure data integrity, and safeguard company assets across all business units.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between senior management, external auditors, and regulatory bodies, providing clear insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Team Development: Mentor and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
• Strategic Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role within a large organization or multinational corporation.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of IFRS, local tax regulations (including Zakat and VAT), and corporate governance standards in Saudi Arabia.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive cross-functional collaboration.
